Dr. Rhiannon Harris
Originally from Germany, Rhiannon Harris grew up in Lawrence, graduating from Lawrence High School. She earned a degree in Studio Art from Grinnell College in Iowa. Returning home, she enjoyed working in the Lawrence veterinary community for several years before completing veterinary school at Kansas State University. A small animal internship at Purdue University allowed her to obtain additional training in internal medicine, emergency medicine and surgery.
Rhiannon spent six years in Seattle where she served as medical director of a small animal hospital and did veterinary relief work throughout Puget Sound. Rhiannon and her family enjoyed the phenomenal outdoor life of the Pacific Northwest, camping on the Pacific coast, hiking in the Cascade Mountains and exploring the city’s idyllic parks. Rhiannon became trained as a beach naturalist for the Seattle Aquarium which helped develop her passion for ocean conservation and tide pooling. Nudibranchs and barnacles are two of her favorite sea creatures!
While they loved the Pacific Northwest, Lawrence, Kansas was never far from their minds. Rhiannon and her husband, Ben, moved their family including two young sons, a dog and three cats, back to Lawrence to enjoy being close to family and friends. Rhiannon is honored to have the opportunity to continue her veterinary career at Clinton Parkway Animal Hospital.
Through comprehensive wellness care she strives to help animals live their healthiest lives and strengthen the relationship between people and their beloved pets. Rhiannon’s family shares their home with a fluffy dog, Piper, a sweet Manx cat, Maddy, and the world’s naughtiest feline, Boba.
